Why use a VPN

A VPN (Virtual Private Network) is a system that allows you to create a secure connection between a computer and a computer network, or between two computer networks. This secure connection is particularly important when data is transmitted over a public network such as the internet.

If you use a remote database for Cheel ERP, the exchanged data could potentially be read by third parties while traveling over the public internet . Using a secure VPN prevents this and protects communication with a remote database. Here are some examples where the remote connection passes through the internet:
  1. You are accessing a database installed on a cloud server (e.g., Microsoft Azure SQL, Amazon RDS for SQL Server, etc.)
  2. You are a trust company and you connect to a database installed at your client's premises.
  3. You are a company and you are connecting to a database installed at your trustee's office .
  4. You are connecting to a database installed at your IT hosting provider .

Install a VPN
