What is a workplace?

The workplace refers to the location where the company conducts its business. It defines the type and duration of work, as well as the canton and municipality for withholding tax purposes. Every company must have at least one workplace and may have several (head office, branch, agency, etc.).

Each workplace must have its own REE (Register of Enterprises and Establishments) number, assigned by the Federal Statistical Office (FSO). For more information on the REE number, see the article How to find the REE number of a workplace?

To add a workplace, see the article Create a workplace .
