Migrate your on-premises infrastructure data to Cheel Cloud

Data migration from your on-premises infrastructure to Cheel Cloud is done on an organizational basis. For each organization, the following steps must be completed:
  1. Back up the organization.
  2. Create an organization on Cheel Cloud.
  3. Restore the backup to the organization created on Cheel Cloud.
To perform these actions, follow the steps below:
  1. On the Organizations page ( File menu, Organizations ), click the More... button in the top right corner of the page and select Save :


  2. Follow the steps to back up an organization's company groups. For more information about backups, see the article Backing up data (company groups) .
  3. Once the backup is complete, click on File , Cheel Data Restore :



  4. In the first step of the wizard, create an organization on the Cheel Cloud into which the backup will be restored:
    1. Click on the New button located at the bottom left of the wizard:



    2. The organization creation wizard will launch and prompt you to create an organization within the Cheel account you logged in with. Click Next .
    3. In the "Enter the organization name" step, enter the organization name. For example, enter the same name as the saved organization followed by the word "cloud" to differentiate the two organizations. Click Next.



    4. In the Languages step, select the language order. The primary language is the one used by default. Click Next .
    5. In the Database Location step, select Cheel Servers (Cloud) :



    6. In the final step, click Finish .
    7. The organization created in the cloud appears in the list of organizations and is automatically selected. Click Next :



  5. In the "Please select the backup file" step, click the Browse button (represented by three dots …) to the right of the Backup file field to select the Cheel backup file. This file has the .cheelbackup extension. Click Next.



  6. In the step, "Please select the company group(s) ," choose the company groups to restore. Click Next :



  7. In the "Finish" step of the wizard , a summary of the restore information is displayed. Click Finish to complete the data restore operation in the organization created on Cheel Cloud.



  8. Repeat these steps for each organization to migrate to Cheel Cloud.
