Create an organization

You need to create an organization before you can add one or more companies to it. The organization also determines the database location. For example, the data can be hosted on Cheel Cloud or stored on your own infrastructure. For more information, see the article What is an organization?
  1. When you log in to your Cheel account, if no organization already exists, the organization creation wizard will open automatically. If you already have an organization and wish to create a new one: File menu, Organizations , New button.
  2. In the first step of the organization creation wizard, your Cheel account is selected (North Accounting Group SA in the example below). If you have multiple accounts, select the one in which the organization should be created:

  3. In the Organization Name step , enter a name and click Next :

  4. In the Languages step , select the language order. The primary language is the default language. For elements containing descriptions in multiple languages (for example, chart of accounts, items, etc.), the primary language description is mandatory. Providing descriptions for other languages is optional. Click Next.

  5. In the Database Location step:
    1. To create a database on Cheel Cloud, select the Cheel Servers (Cloud) location:



    2. To create a database on your local servers:
      1. Select the Custom Server location (Local).

      2. Choose the server containing the connection information.
        For more information about the Server feature, see the article Create a Server to save connection settings .
      3. Enter the database name :

        Backing up your databases
         When creating local databases, be sure to also implement a backup system for each database. Your IT specialist can advise you on a suitable backup system.

  6. The final step displays a summary of the information entered in the wizard. Click Finish to create the organization.



  7. If this is the first organization you are creating, the company creation screen will appear automatically:
