Steps to set up a custom (local) server

If you wish to host Cheel ERP data within your own infrastructure, in the Data Location step, you can use the Custom Server option. This option requires installing or using a database management system and registering the connection settings in Cheel ERP.

How to install a database management system
To install a database manager, consult the documentation for the supported database managers:
    1. SQL Server Express
    2. PostgreSQL
    3. MariaDB:
      1. Installation on a Synology NAS
      2. Installation on a QNAP NAS
    4. MySQL
Configure a Database Server
Configure a database server to save connection settings to your database manager: Create a server to save connection settings .

Create an organization on a custom (local) server
  1. In the File menu, select Organizations and create a new Organization.
  2. In the Database Location step , select the Custom Server (Local) location.
  3. Choose the server containing the database manager connection information.
    Note: You can manage the servers by clicking the ". . ." button in the Servers list.
